My ex girlfriends sister won a national title shooting completion at the age of 17...against the armed forces shooting squads to boot. She was recruited by the army shooting team and was quite successful. We went to see her shoot up at the big competition at Camp Perry, Oh and I was thoroughly impressed. 1000 yards with no scope. They were allowed to use a field glass to spot where the rounds went, but actual shots were put on without a scope. I can't even see 1000 yards. Let alone put 10 rounds in a grapefruit size grouping and that didn't even let her place that particular time.
My dad did this in the army back in the 60's with M1 Garands against guys with scopes.
Their team would get 2nd or 3rd.
Most guys with scopes dont' know how to adjust for windage.

Yeah it's crazy actually seeing. She had this large padded vest and a sweatshirt on in August. I asked if that was for recoil and she said its to dampen the heartbeat because at that distance the heart can throw off the trajectory.

I also like the console Bill.
Is that the reason that now she is your EX?, and you always stay away more than 1000 yards? LOL.

If the coal industry doesn't pick up, I may have to! LOL!!
I wouldn't call it ambition Gabe........I just don't wanna cut the grass!LOL!!!
At least you have grass to mow haha, mines all dead. Seem like thats how coal is. The company i work for was really slow last year, and this year we cant get a break and have to hire more workers.

I don't fear getting laid off, but I like my overtime for extra money, and there's not much overtime to be had right now. I'm working between 40 and 45 hours a week now, and I'm used to 55 to 60.
But anyway, I got the console all welded and cleaned up. I stuck some switches and the button for the train horn in it to see how it looks. A coat of paint and some wiring and it's done. I'll take some more pics of it painted and in the truck.
