well i have an issue today that i am pulling my hair out over and i was going to see if somebody on here could help me out. My issue started yesterday with my spedo acting crazy and my abs light coming on, also a slight shifting problem with my auto tranny. Anyway after a little research I concluded it most likely was the vss/abs sensor that was located on top of the rear diff. flash forward to this morning and i went to my local oriellys and purchased one and installed it. After installing it i went out on a little drive, abs light still on and no speedo at all now and very hard shifts between gears. So i went to my local ford garage and spoke with a friend and he said i may have a bad sensor from the parts house. So going on his advise i purchased one from Ford (double the price from the one from the parts house i may add) and installed it. Same issues once again no speedo light on etc. So after a few cups of coffee and conversation i decided to go to a friends house and use his code reader and see what codes may be in there. The code came up 0500 which means vehicle speed sensor which i have already replaced twice today. Anybody have any thoughts as to what may be going on here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
