The Super Duty brakes are the biggest pain in the a$$ ever!!!! Even my 84 F-250 was easier than what I just went through. (Ive done plenty of brakes too) Main complaint- CLIPS!!!!!! 2 hrs on 1 side... 20 min on the other. I changed the caliper out completely as I carry a load quite often... and they were the origionals with 160K on em...
When I took either side off- they werent there (my fault for not knowing they even existed). period. My pads have been draggin for a while. After finding a vid showing me where the clips go, they would NOT stay. I ended up dremmeling the pads out a bit to get it to stay.
Lessons learned-
1. Read up on the procedures.
2. Buy higher end brake pads for the truck that have the clip positioning built in.
3. keep a cuss jar near by so I can buy myself a 12 pack for not teaching to local kids how to cuss.
