I live in the NW where it is very often wet. My heated mirrors are driving me crazy. Ive seen on here some have installed a switch on theres. How can I do this. If I still lived in MT I would like this setup a lot, however I am now on the coast of WA where it seldom freezes and they are driving me crazy!

I was also thinking of doing some thing about this too
We have the same year and I have the wiring book
AND we line in the same neck of the woods.
Are you close to Spanaway?

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back here. Been crazy busy. I live in Aberdeen. That would be cool if we could get together to do this sometime.
@ Amdriven . Thanks a lot. I had that spreadsheet and some how it got corrupted....Could you send me another please?

Well I can tell you.
When it rains any dust on the mirror gets wet and
the heat tends to dry it into spots. Almost like hard water spots.
Or if you get splashed by a puddle that too will dry into spots.
Looks like crap and not so easy to see through.
When I get a chance I'll try to post a photo of what it does.
But the best thing to compare it to is hard water spots
Easy fast method I did was to pull the fuse. Mirrors were getting hot enough to melt the adhesive on my little mirrors. About 2 minutes if my time and it's fixed...and reversible if I get in cold weather
What happens with the heated mirrors when they are wet?
The heat keeps them clear. Sure, they do get spotty, just need to clean them more often. I put them on a switch just so they are not on every time I drive in the summer.
Every semi I have driven has had heated mirrors, I never noticed spotting due to the fact I wash all the glass in the truck every day.
And they are all on a switch.
