Tt To Paddle Mirrors

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">Can you switch from the tt mirrors to the paddle with no adapters? My dealer said I couldn't switch because the paddle mirrors needed an adapter. When I did a search I saw that everyone was switching to the tt mirrors with only minor mod with wiring.Couple of questions:If they can be switched what is the part number for the paddle mirrors? Can you get power heated and turn signal? The reason I'm switching is my truck would fit in the garage if I could gain a couple of inches

The paddle mirrors do not provide nearly the view of the tt mirrors. I switch to tt mirrors and it is night and day. BTW, I have my paddles for sale, 05's, one year old if you want to buy them, ping me. And you can go back and forth between tt and paddles...the plugs and all bolts line up. It is an easy job, but you need someone to hold the mirror while you bolt it up.

I'm with buckshot047. I don't think I could handle driving with those little mirrors, epecially in heavy traffic. Somebody else posted in one of the other threads that the new '08 mirrors will fit an '06 truck. If I'm not mistaken, the '08 mirrors are "power folding". So if they are a direct fit, you could get them and add a switch somewhere that would allow you to fold them in when needed. I would look at going that route versus the paddle mirrors, although it would definitely take a little more work and money.

Huh?

Define Small mirrors? Are you referring to those weird "Truck like" mirrors I see on SD?

I have the dual rod mirrors with the Upper mirror and the wide angle mirror below.. I have tried pulling them out and they do not come out.. Mine are like stuck.. Are TT mirrors the ones that are further out for towing? Or are they Telescopic? Currently my mirrors don't do no Telescopic'n.. I'm afraid if I pull I'mma rip the darn things off lol..

Yes I'm talking about the telescopic mirrors and I want to switch to the little mirrors.

They take a bit of a jerk to get them moving at first. Mine are quite stiff as well, but it shouldn't feel like your going to rip them off.

The first couple years didn't telescope, but by 04 I'm pretty sure all the trailer mirrors did. Especially the ones with lights. I would say you should hit them with some wd40 or what not and give them a tug, they are probably just stuck. Just in case though I would try to grab them right between the two posts so you are pulling in the strongest part and are less likely to break anything.

Moved to the SuperDuty forum from the 6.0L section.

Maybe you can get the mirrors from a new 08..... One flip of the switch and they fold themselves in ...... pretty slick I thought.

Or maybe just buy a new 2008........

I've got a set of paddle mirrors that I will trade you for your telescoping ones....I have been looking for some of the two arm telescoping mirrors to put on my truck. I don't have a garage, and need them for towing + for my camper. Let me know.

Richsoucie......If you were talking to me, hang on a day or two. I just sold my headache rack off my truck to a guy with the telescoping mirrors that I want. Trying to work out a deal to trade mirrors as well. I'll keep you posted. Karma.
