B.S.S. stricken
Another case of bouncy speedo syndrome, last time i just snagged a new speedo from the JY, but theyre getting alot harder to find. When i put this one in about 2-3 years ago it seemed in alot better condition than my old one.
Symptoms: When cruising 60, it will jump around from 30-75, often times it likes to "stick" about 10mph slower than im actually going, then "unsticks" and goes flying up, only to come bouncing down.
Just wondering what your guys' opinions / tips are before i dig into the dash, when i stuck the new speedo head in i doused it and the cable with some JD chain & cable lube.

Pull the cable out of the housing. Clean it with carb spray and dry. Hose out the housing with the spray from both ends the best you can.
Then use graphite to lube the tube and cable. Graphite is the correct lube for this application; speedo cable.

That is what i used. However i didint clean it all out before hand. As far as the speedo head itself, what would you recommend? I was thinking of white lithium grease

Any type of grease will collect dust over time and cause more trouble.
