A/c Question
I have a 74 F100.The belt for the has not been on since before I got it.The compressor turns freely.What should I check or do before hooking it up and trying it out? It does not seem to be getting any cooler out here.

well if you put the belt on and it spins free ur okay there then see if u can turn it on, if not try jumping power to the clutch to see if it at least engages then see about charging it, i put freeze12 in mine. it is a product made my johnsen and only a few places carried it. not something youll find at oreillys autozone or walmart but bumper to bumper auto parts and air conditioning supply businesses may still have some but hurry b/c the company has recently discontinued the freeze 12. otherwise youll have to retrofit the system to the r134a junk

Is the plug to check about halfway down on the drivers side of the compressor?I removed that bolt and could hear air coming out. Also ,if this is the right place to check the oil ,it is low so what weight of oil should I put in.
