Hi.Someone on here asked can you get just the steel inners for your cab mount bushings, say you want to go with energy suspension poly bushings and replace steel sleeve,I did not see that ? answered,so Im throwing back out there. Is it really a great improvement going with poly bushings over the standard rubber if purchased new? Thankyou
I went with the poly when I replaced mine. I dont know that its any big improvement or not, some say the poly bushings give a stiffer ride, I dont notice any difference myself. I do think the poly may outlast the OEM rubber. My front bushings were somewhat flattened when I replaced them but they did last 35 years.
I used energy suspension poly bushings. If I remember correctly they came with new washers and I think the bolts were 7/16". I measured them up and went to the hardware store and bought new bolts with lock nuts. I used 1" tubing and made new sleeves. Worked perfect!
You can buy the new hardware from a few different manufactures. Energy, Daystar, Zone OffRoad, are just a few. None of the above list the hardware separately, but if you contact them, they will gladly sell you some. They would not confirm it the hardware would fit My 01 Expedition, due to the fact hardware does not come in the first gen expedition body lift.i Look up the f-250 cab lift, and you can see the assonated hardware. One more note, I had to use universal body mounts on my crown Vic and they did not fit correctly at the hole in the chassis mount. The bushing was a bit smaller than the mount plate. This would cause the body to move slightly in a hard turn. To fix this i used washers with the ID to fit the bushing and OD and thickness fit the mount plate. I mention this cuz while installing the body bushings on the expedition I noticed this same issue not near as bad as the universal one. just something to check Mike/EZ
