THANKS!
Have an Air conditioning problem, eh? I know what that was like. Here's a similar story. My mom used to have a 1996 Dodge Caravan, sort of like this one:
It worked just fine until a few years later when the air conditioning started to break down. No cool or warm air came out.
Do what we did. Take your truck to the dealer and get the ac fixed.

Yeah, that would be an ok idea except apparently he is lacking the compressor, the pullys, the brackets etc so theres nothing there to "fix".
Okay,
To the original poster, check the classifieds here or look for a donor truck in the junkyard to get the missing parts you need or like Hio said, go with an aftermarket setup.
This definitely looks do-able. The truck I'm in now never had ac. would it be worth spending $900 versus $300 for a used factory unit, just for what appears to be a lot easier install? I know there's a lot of firewall cutting for the old system and no instructions for a box full of parts I'm sure I'll get.

Depends what it is worth to ya.
To me, yes. A bit more money buys new parts, certainty, and peace of mind. Plus, there's a company name, reputation, and warranty to back it up. I'd rather spend $900 on a known quantity than to low-buck and cobble it together in **hope** that it works. That's me though... your risk tolerance is likely different.
