Power steering fluid...I think.

My buddy and I were changing his front break pad when we noticed a little puddle of what looked like PS fluid. Could PS fluid over flowed out somewhere while turning his steering wheel back and forth a couple of times without the engine running. It looked like it dripped from directly beneath the front dif.

The power steering system takes Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) on these trucks. Yes you can blow fluid out by turning the wheel with the engine off. Check the fluid level for the power steering if it's low add some ATF and unless the problem persists don't worry about it.

Here's a re-Pete answer for you....

I've done the same thing you've described several times. Like the other Pete said above, double check your fluid level to make sure you didn't burp out too much and create a low level.
