My truck has been lowered 4" in front and 6" out back...
For around town driving, it's great...however, when I loaded up the bed, it damn near bottomed out, and certinly no longer is level...
A quick peek under the truck reveiled spindle+shocks in the front, and a flip kit in the rear. Also, I believe the leaf spring in the rear is minus one leaf.
Thinking of replacing the rear leaf springs with airbag, so that I may level out my truck when I'm hauling a load back there...Maybe I should replace the entire suspension with bags..?!?
Has anyone here done this? Products to reccomend? I've searched online, but no one really has a kit specifically for my 1988 F150...either that or I just can't find it.
Firestone I think has a set. I almost bought them.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Sunroof, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
Check out my Gallery for a look-see.
Then theres:
99' Mustang GT 4.6L
88' F-250 Superduty 4x4 351/c6
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 with a
3 spd column shifter. Top speed is 65mph, Go Baby Go!
My truck has the Belltech 5/7 drop (axle flip in the rear). I added a set of Air Ride bags for towing. But I had a problem - the kit wasn't designed for the axle flips. I used the original U bolts for mounting the bags and it worked out great.
I plan on lowering my ride about 5/6....how is the ride?...I dont really plan on hauling much of anything....maybe trailering a motorcycle everynow an then....will i have to C-notch then frame? Just curious....I dont see many ppl talking about lowering their trucks.....btw its a 90 F-150 swb, 5.0....

The trucks that have been lowered that I have seen and ridden in will beat you to death if they don't beat you to death they bounce and scrape the underside of the truck.
Have any of you ever heard the phrase "Lowriders are for guys who cant get it up"?
and just another question, why would you work a lowered truck, arent they just for show?

well let me clarify.... I was only doing this for show purposes....I plan on buying a 95-97 TurboDiesel 4x4 4 door and raise the **** outta it.....I figured since all i have are raised up Fords, it would be something different, u know...out of the ordinary

i like when two of the same trucks are parked nose to nose and one is lifted and the other lowered.
