My truck has over time to get a sag in it on the left side. The front left sits 2-3 inches lower than the front right. The left rear is a inch lower than the right rear. I also have a pretty bad squeek i believe coming from the left side when i go over bumps. A buddy of mine is a mechanic and i asked him and he looked at it and thinks the leafs are just worn out/blown out. Has anyone reaplaced their leaf springs? if so what brand and where did you get them?
BTW truck has 33s with a multi leaf pack leveling kit in the front..sagged before it was put on.
Just my opionion since I havent changed mine yet. But if your going to do front and rear leaf spring (what It sounds like), why not just do a lift kit to add instead of staying stock.
i was runnin on bump stops on both sides so i took my leafs out and had them re arched, 2 extra added to each side, and the guy who did mine was telling me about it the sag on the right side of the PSD so he rearched the driver side highter and it fixed all issues
Removing the springs isnt bad. Make sure you remove the bumper, have air tools, and a decent torch. Procedure is as follows.
Remove bumper.
Raise truck up until tires clear the ground.
Insert jack stands under frame.
Remove tires.
Lower axle back down until it is hanging by the springs then raise the axle a tad.
Unbolt U-bolts and shocks.
Lower axle so that springs are no longer touching or attached.
Apply torch to spring bolt. Let it get hot until you start seeing the loctite flowing out.
Hit it with the impact gun.
Repeat process on rear bolt.
Install is a bit tricky.
Bolt rear of spring to shackles but loosen shackles where they mount to the frame.
Bring the front of the spring up, and hope it lines up.
If it does not, wrap a heavy duty ratchet strap around the rear shackle and frame horn and front of spring.
Ratchet it down to arch the spring until it lines up. Insert bolt and get the nut on as fast as you can.
Loosen ratchet strap or come-a-long slowly making sure that the bolts for the spring are held securely.
Reverse process of lowering axle.
Ford springs will be the X code for the front and C code for the rear. They are the springs from the plow prep package/350 dually. They are your tallest option for Ford springs. I have the rear C codes and I like them. I bought mine from my local Ford dealer.
