Hey guys, back with another '01 Lincoln Navigator prob. Inspection shop says i need a new radiator support. It's rotted out on both ends, on bottom, and it looks like front engine mounts go through it. I have tried looking for support on-line, but all i see, are what looks to be the whole front face support. Anyone know exactly what it's called, or where on-line i could find one?
I guess i should have been more specific ALLORO, but i intend to do the job myself. I did hit "view image" on your link, and "error" keeps popping up, so i still don't know what i'm looking for, looks like? Thanks for your help just the same
Depending on how bad the rot is, you can go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy some material to fix it yourself. They have angle material in steel and aluminum, or as Alloro suggested buy the whole piece. Google the p/n and add Lincoln or Navigator like the link below. Is that what you need?

That was my intentions, if what i found, was too expensive Race. I do have torches/welder, and some angle iron, just wanted to see what the part looked like, and how much it was. That is the part i've been finding in my searches, and it just didn't seem like that was it. Guess it is though...lol. I have to get at it in a day or two at least, so i can repair it, and get inspection finished. Will post back with results. Thanks for the info Race
I've hit a snag guys. Have everything disconnected, except for the lower radiator hose. There is NO clamp, and i don't want to assume it comes off this way, or that way, and destroy it, or radiator nipple. It almost looks like it has to be PUSHED in, and ring behind it moved forward.........but that's just an assumption, and i don't how you'd get both hands in there to do that, if in fact that's how it does come off? Anyone know how the damned thing comes off.........for sure?...............damned Ford *&#&^* ideas
[quote=alloro;12024957]It's not difficult to replace a radiator. You just drain the system, disconnect the hoses, the tranny cooling lines (plug them to save fluid), unbolt the shroud and radiator radiator, and then lift it out. Probably the hardest thing to do it is trying to disconnect the lower radiator hose. They use a quick connect feature that requires you to un-bend a tab, twist the connector 45 degrees to the left, and then pull the fitting back. This takes a lot of effort to do. So much so that many people just cut the plastic ring off the connector, pull the hose off, then use a regular hose clamp during reassembly. But you'll still have to get the connector off to reuse on the new radiator. This is an easier task if you remove the driver's wheel and the plastic wheel well guard. Doing so gives much better access to the lower hose.

Not replacing the rad B, just the rad core support. As i said, everything is off, drained, done......except for the damned lower hose. If as you say, if it's a b---h to get the connection off, then cutting it sounds like an option. There's enough play, to re-connect with normal hose clamp. I think i can do it without removing wheel/guard, but will, if i can't do it otherwise. With all the crap that has to come off old support, i'm trying to do the least removal of parts, as is possible....lol. Thanks for feed back, now i've got to hunt down a core support on-line
Don't cut the hose, cut the plastic ring that goes around the hose. That plastic ring is acting like a hose clamp.
Ok ALLORO, will do. Ordered new rad support, so other than cutting that plastic clamp off, i won't disconnect anything else from support, until new one gets here. There's absolutely nothing in my manual about removing/installing support, and peripherals, and i have a tendency to forget where certain things went, if there's a large time gap between taking off/putting on....lol
Thanks bud
Rad support finally came in guys, and as soon as i took it out of box, i realized it wasn't going to happen. That part is put in, and spot welded all over on both sides. So i said the hell with new part, and just used torch, and cut off wheel on grinder, to get off lower section of support. Then i did some measuring, and cut/heated, and fit/bolted in a 1/16" plate for lower section. Passed inspection with flying colors, but am now stuck with new rad support, part was $65, and shipping to me was $45, but UPS won't ship it back for less than $185 ) Ebay dealer just gave me the finger, and said on top of that, they'd charge me a 15% re-stocking fee. Damn, i love those people....lol...........anyone interested in a new rad support.....lol

The eBay seller didn't do anything wrong, did he? You bought it and he shipped it. Try listing it in the car and truck parts in your local Craigslist website.

Just the fact it would cost ME 4x as much to ship it back, is bad enough, but adding the 15% restocking fee, because, as they put it, i should have known that it wasn't a bolt in, was the reason they gave me for the charge. Been on EBAY since '98, and never had anyone gouge me as bad as this dealer. Did he do anything wrong? not legally, but i'd say he damn well was greedy and deceiving. Checked his ratings just for the last month, and he had 26 negs. I don't see any difference between them, and Direct tv, or Dish network It's already listed on Craigslist!
