Junkyard Find and a Couple Problems
First of all I was really excited to find this intact dash at the local yard. Just needs a good cleaning and some paint! I was almost resigned to spending $150 plus on a topper. Secondly, I have a couple problems I hope you guys can advise on. I'm getting a lound hum from the front end of the truck around 30-35 mph and then really loud at around 60, hubs maybe? Also, in 3rd and 4th gear I can rev the engine almost like its in neutral if I floor it. Truck seems to accelerate normally with no benefit from mashing the skinny pedal. I noticed this the fist time goin up a hill in 3rd. Gave it some extra juice and the engine revved up but truck didn't respond. Had to go easy on the pedal and slowly bring her up to speed. Scratching my head on this one. Btw, 6.9 with T19 4 speed manual.

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. Rev the engine in the driveway and see if you have the loud hum. If you do, someone probably cut the "soup bowl" out of the air cleaner, and that can make the intake of the engine have a noisy drone sound.
