I have a 1997 f150 4.6L 4x4 Standard Transmission and today I hopped in it to go to work, and the Speedo, Trip Odometer, and Odometer all are not working.
This is the first time it has happened to me, anyone else know what could cause this or have a problem similar to this and know how to fix it?
Just an update, my airbag light has come on on the dash, and I saw the needle shoot up to 40 km/h and then fall to zero, and then i saw it shoot up to 20 km/h and fall to zero. Trip odometer registered 100 meters. (during the last 5 minute drive).
On a side note, the fan turns on in my truck after the keys have been removed from the ignition now... not quite sure how that works... As well my truck has developed a misfire.
couple ideas. Not sure what "fan" you have, but if your talking heater/ blower/ that should not happen. Either you have a lot of concidences, or a bigger problem that is causing everything. ONe thought is there is a computer / terminal box above thte steering column, under the dash, below the windshield. IF the window seal leaks, the box can get wet and terminals corrode and this can cause a variety of problems including the heater motor, radio, and things not shutting off with the key. Might check that.. Does the drivers floor get wet or notice any drips in the rain ?
Ya sorry I meant heater blower... That sounds like a worthwhile check.
The only leak I notice is the rear window leak through the third brake light (I'm assuming) but I suppose if one pane of glass can leak the other one could too possibly... And we have pretty much had weeks worth of rain so far
