odometer problems

odometer problems
Hey guys,
I noticed the other day that my odometer was not turning. However the spedometer still works. Then yesterday it started turning again. sometimes it turns sometimes it dosent. I assume the problem is in the dash. Does anyone have any ideas as to whats wrong or any pointers on how to fix this before i tear in to it?

Replace your speedometer head. If both the speedo and odometer were out you could think it was in the cable or transmission gears. 85mph speedometer heads are available at any junk yard. The 100mph ones are harder to find. I think anything from 73-9 trucks will work and up to 89 vans.
