I have a 2003 F150 Lariat with 4.6 Triton. My Oil Dummy light came on the other day. Checked the oil and it was fine. Gauge was showing normal but the light in upper left was on. Went ahead and changed sending unit next to the filter but light is still on. I have checked everywhere in forums and the net to find out where the switch for the dummy light is, but can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.
The light comes on when I start the vehicle and stays on. Engine coolant is full and gauge is reading fine. The engine oil pressure is reading fine and drove it over fifty miles with no problems with temp or knocking.
Everythings fine but you still have a lamp on!
If you don't try to look for the cause, enjoy it.
There is a ground coming from somewhere causing it.
Good luck.
I'm trying to look for the cause...that's why I posted. All I was asking was did anyone know were the dummy light sender is. I know where the gauge sender is and have replaced it. OK...something is grounded, I was trying to find the switch!!!
