Spark Plug drama

Ok, I have seen alot of talk over what spark plug to use and which ones to stay away from. Just posting this thread to refresh my mind before I purchase a new set of plugs for my 98 Expedition 4.6(Romeo). I,ve heard alot of great things about the nickel plugs for this ride but i see they are not that easy to find, is there a reason on this. I also heard and believe to stay with the OEM plug but in todays market, there are just as good plugs out there with a different name on them, am i right about this. I just want to put a good plug set in this truck that will give me good dependable long running. Are the heat numbers on a plug any thing important on to days engines anymore? Thanks to all that reply to help and give their advice/s.

I'll be real honest when I say that I don't buy in to any hype around advanced spark plugs. The stock plugs are exactly what you are looking for: long lasting and dependable.
