What happens ever so often with mine is that the gear shift needs a little wiggle or jiggle and it will start like the switch is in contact properly but its no biggie for me!
So next time it happens try to jiggle the gear shift!
It hasn't done it since, it's really weird. I'm hesitant to buy a starter because of $$$ constraints but I also don't want her to get stranded anywhere.

Search the forums for this, but there are torx screws under the steering column that sometimes end up loose that can cause your shifter to be loose and not end up in the right spot... or the bushings could be worn.
Mine has been doing this since I picked it up about 8 months ago, everytime it happens, I don't bother wiggling it, I just throw her in neutral and she fires right up.

Sounds like this could be my problem. Thanx for the tips! It would definitely be better than a new starter...
