I ground the washers to conture the filler neck.
Only problem I did mine with was i broke a bolt off in my new pump.
Coudln't get it out, so i drilled it out and had to put a bolt though it. So... since its the back one, I gotta pull the waterpump to chaneg the t-stat. haha.
It's not getting changed.

I pulled my fan and shroud out this weekend. I will try it this way for the winter I guess. I need to figure out a slick way to block off the radiator too. This thing takes WAY to long to warm up and it isn't even all that cold out yet. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
I live 1.5 miles from the main road, at 35-40 mph, got heat when I hit the main. You must have some other issue or one heck of a radiator. Even before taking off the fan, I had heat at the main road.

For anyone interested, RockAuto sells the 6.0L fan for $57.79. Its the one I have and works great, bolts right up to the stock fan clutch. Wish I could get away with no fan but I tow around 18k too much in hot weather and I need A/C!!

6.0 fan fits
I heard the 6.0L plastic fan blades fit the OBS clutch Via Bean on PSN. Paid $60 for them on Rockauto. They do bolt up to the clutch and fit in the shroud.
Except: the blades are closer to the radiator then the OBS metal fan.
The metal fan was 2.5" from blade tip to rad core. ~5/8" blade tip to balancer.
The plastic fan is 1.25" from blade tip to rad core. 2.125" tip to balancer.
It moved the fan forward 1.25"
So when you are installing the fan/clutch onto the waterpump the blades rubbed alittle on the rad upper tank until you got a few threads on the waterpump shaft.
Also this fan/clutch combo is 2lbs lighter than stock and has two more blades so more airflow for better a/c and IC airflow
Over there they were quoting our metal fan @ 5900cfm. Ford lists the 6.0 fan and clutch @10000cfm. Dont know if the 6.0 clutch locks up 1:1 or not which could give it an edge over this setup.
