Idk if ill take mine off or not... do you think it would keep less dirt/mud flying in at my radiator if its off? I really hate getting my engine bay even more dirty while offroading. lol
I like how it doesnt' throw oil and whatever else everywhere in my bay now.
it stays a lot cleaner.

Now to just get rid of my seeping coolant issues on my new water pump. =\

Didn't wanna start a whole new thread for this, but I just had to replace my water pump tonite and I left the fan off. The front of the engine does look SOOOO much cleaner, and the truck does seem to have a little more pep. I really feel and hear the a/c compressor kick on and off now, who knew the fan masked so much? Oh, I also plumed for a coolant filter which will go on tomorrow, hopefully.

Hey Gus! I took my fan off a couple months ago when I changed my power steering pump. I like not having it and the shroud in the way.

The no shroud thing and just the clean look make it worthwhile.

If you need AC though, I suggest setting up a smaller fan behind the AC to keep flow in the summer. You will loose AC while city driving if you stop to long.

Well, I've been driving around today without the fan and the A/C is not up to par. I'm an
A/C junkie so this ain't gonna work, I wanna do the E-fan but for some reason the 6.0L fan just seems so appealing to me. Coin's in the air, ya'll call it...

My A/C doesn,t work anyway LOL!! Condenser has a big hole in it. I may fix it some day, but I really don't use it that much. I've been kicking around the idea of turning my A/C compressor into an onboard air compressor.

If you do any towing with your truck down here in the summer, just go ahead and run a mechanical fan, UNLESS you don't mind swapping your radiator out with an SD radiator to gain the ability to run the Flex-a-lite fans available for the Super Duty. Running the Flex-a-lites is quite a bit more expensive. I've been running the SD Flex-a-lite fans for almost a year now and they are great. Did some towing in 100*+ heat, sitting in traffic in Austin rush hour, and put around 15k miles on it this year. My A/C is always COLD at 39* coming out the vents sitting idle with the engine warmed up and 90* outside. No issues with towing either.

Oh, well if I ever decide to fix it, I might take you up on that. Right now, I'd rather have a snow plow than A/C ! LOL!!!!

Well I jumped on the bandwagon today and pulled the fan/shroud. It's amazing how quiet it is now. Hopefully I pick up an mpg or 2.
