Hi all, I'm new here and hoping I can get a little help. I have a 78 in almost perfect stock shape, but age has taken it's toll. I want to restore the engine bay to perfect shape (I've found all the decals I need) but I need a picture to go by for the color of the original components and the decal positions. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Not that I have a perfect engine bay myself, but which engine do you have? My '78 long box has a I6 300. And welcome to FTE! I'm new too and have found a lot of help here! Chow!
I have the 351C in the truck. It has pw/steering/brakes and a/c. Thanks for the welcome. I reckon it takes a special breed to like these old fords, lol.

I think you have a 351M don't think the 351C was even in production in 78, i'm sure others will chime in. Welcome to FTE have fun.
You might have to change some of those decals.
Wow! What a can of Engine Brite won't do to spruce up an engine bay hu? Looks great! And the same engine and body color of my 78 F150! Mine will never look so good.... Not on my unemployed budget.
Actually Tees that helps out quite a bit. I figure the colors shouldn't be much different on mine, I cleaned off the valvecovers and ya'll were right its a 351M. I had always heard that the 351M's were dogs and this truck is actually quite the opposite. I'll pictures up once I get er cleaned off.
My engine didn't come with much of any stickers, which is ok with me. There was one on the coil, and one on the voltage regulator, which I bought and put on when I was done. On my first run out, when I got back one was missing. So the point is when you buy the correct stickers for it, you don't know how old they are, and they may not stay in place long.
PS: Please post up some pictures when you are done.

A trick for that is apply the sticker right after you paint the part while the paint is still tacky. The paint helps adhere the sticker. Just let the paint dry completely before you take the truck out for a spin.
Awesome, thanks for the help guys. Ima try to have it cleaned up this week and have pictures posted. Is there a thread on here for 351m related stuff. I have a pretty good idea what I'll do to it, but I'd like hear from someone who's cracked one open.
You can see the yellew radiator sticker on jas88's picture. I think my owners manual for my 78 has all of the locations where the stickers are located on the truck. If you don't have the manual you can usually find one on eBay. Or the... Other Ford truck site, FORDification.net
