Accessory fuse box?

I have to many wires going to my battery terminal so what I was told I needed to do was put a fuse box or something next to the battery to tie all these accessory wires into. Anyone have a suggestion on what kinda fuse box I should use and how do I tie a wire into it?

Thanks

I suggest ya order catalogs from Summit and Jeg's. They list a zillion parts from the aftermarket and provide a pretty good picture of what is available.

Painless Wiring carries a few different auxiliary fuse boxes. One is the CirKitBoss which, IIRC, has up to like seven circuits - some hot at all times and some only with the ignition hot.

I had the very same problem and got an add-on fuse block from one of the local auto parts stores. I mounted it near the starter solenoid. Mine has 6 terminals, and is fed from the hot side of the solenoid. Less than $10 IIRC.

Here's a similar one, but with only 5 terminals:

I have two of these, one for switch on power and one for direct battery power. They are $10 from AutoZone.

Heres what I did. Main painless fuse block. Accessory fuse block, and relays on top. Of course this is in the cab, but you can use some sort of an accessory fuse block in the engine bay.

In my engine compartment I have a 2 stud terminal block that I run a 8gauge wire to each side. I use this to feed the main power to any accessories. and then theyre fused in the cab

Thought I had some pics, but I guess I dont. Summit has everything your looking for.

this is what I used
Painless Wiring 80112 - Painless Performance Junction Blocks - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Something like this would work also.
Ron Francis Wiring JB57 - Ron Francis Wiring Power Junction Blocks - Overview - SummitRacing.com

If you want to run a fuse block in your engine compartment theres a million different types to use.

we use these all the time in my shop.

BLUE SEA SYSTEMS ST Blade Fuse Blocks at West Marine

I cant for the life of me remember where we purchase them from.

The decals are optional from west marine and are not included. Personally we make our own decals with a little label printer.

I bought one at Autozone a while back to wire up lights and a radio in a non-jerry-rigged manner.

Wow, talk about options. Thanks everyone for you ideas. I think i will go with dynamic's idea. I really like the look of that box. I will probably put on under the hood for stuff that i dont need to turn on with the ignition and ill put the smaller version of that box in the cab for stuff i want to turn on with the ignition

Look at how the accessory wires attach to it. One has them screw on the front side. And one has them screw to the backside and theyre hidden. I used the backside one on my dads boat.

A negative bus is basically a ground. You wire the positive and negative into the fuse box. Same set up as your house wiring.

The one without the negative bus you just wire the positive to the fuse box and then you ground the wire somewhere else on the vehicle.
