Well back in about march/april. Studded and deleted my truck with a new oil cooler. and everything was working great. Now about the past week to two weeks the tea kettle whistle is back, but now its worse than it was before. The truck can be sitting there idling and just a constant whistle then pause for a few seconds then come back and its louder then last time before the heads. Is it possible for the cap to that bad where its not holding any type of pressure. Any help would be appreciated.
no i didnt, it was down for about two-three weeks because we ran into other problem, a bolt broke off in the front cover so I needed to get another one, leak in the radiator so had to wait for them to come in and just wanted it back on the road and didnt even think about replacing the cap or the bottle.
about the work.
black onyx head gasket
arp's torqued to 225 when they said 210
I did have the heads checked for warpag and they came back as good.
The only side that had the blown gasket was the driver side. And ill check the CAC boots.
forgot one more thing sometimes it will push coolant out other times it wont. thats why Im leaning more towards the cap being bad or the the actual degas bottle. When i do put coolant in its not that much I have to top off. Where when I had the blown head and EGR and clogged oil cooler I was putting about a gallon a day in.
