Since you guys live in Tahoe...
Do you or your wife know how to sail board? We need lessons.
I traded Kaedons little 50 cc quad & a chainsaw for the Wind Surf/Sail Board & I don't know the first thing about it. LOL! I just figured it would be something new to try & the kids could use it for years to come instead of out growing it! The guy I traded with lives in S. Lake Tahoe & he kinda explained how to set it up, but we don't know the first thing on how to actually get on the board & surf.
That's cool. I learned to ride one about thirty years ago. Not sure I would be up to it now. But they are a lot of fun. You can find a bunch of videos on youtube to help with learning. When I learned, the first day I spent the first day falling off the board and climbing back on. At the end of the day I was totally exhausted and thought I would never learn. Next day I went back to it and found that I had learned a lot the first day and the second day was a big success. I had no instructions but I already knew a lot about sailing regular sailboats. Once you get the hang of it, it is as much fun as your first dirt bike. I never got to be an expert but I did have a lot of fun. At that time, sailboards were still being developed and refined. I bought a cheap one and it was not very good. Too long, too tippy and too heavy. Got rid of that thing and I have only rented them since.
You should learn in a lake other than Tahoe unless you have wetsuits. Too cold. Shallower lakes will be warmer by now. And you don't want to get in too deep unless the kids are good swimmers. They should at least wear life vests.
WOOHOO! It's mid-week Wednesday, so let the humping begin!
Have an awesome day. I know we will. We're going to test our balance & strength on the sail board at Lahontan today...maybe! I gotta find the life jackets first. Sure wish Bruce & his wife could be here with us to coach us through, as well as have some fun on it!
Come on Bruce...ya know you wanna?! We should actually make a day of it one of these days. Whatcha think? Hell, maybe we can get Michelle to come out too & anyone else that would like to have some fun in the sun!
Sorry I haven't posted and said HEY in a while...we've been on a pretty good RV trip.
Here's us as we were leaving Fort Wayne...
We've been to the Mall of America (notiice how happy I am to be there with 3 women...LOL)

While there we were able to meet up with some fellow FTE'rs Sailor_Roy (center) and Exxwhy (right)
Then we traveled out to Devil's Tower (where we are now)...we watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind last night here at the campground since that movie was shot here!
We'll be packing up camp here in a little bit headed to the Black Hills and will be meeting up with more FTE'rs cowboywannabe and RushmoreX!
We'll be hitting the Badlands, Wall Drug, Corn Palace on the last stop before heading home mid next week!
We're having a great time seeing more of our beautiful country!
Joe, I went into Vegas yesterday and I felt I had a GREAT trip... then I wake up to read your post ... now I feel like I just walked across the street ... Just kidding you and the family look like y'all are having a GREAT time... Enjoy and be safe "keep on truckin" Dave
I'm way late, but whatever... atleast I'm finally here. LOL!
I hope you all had a great day. I finally found a life preserver in storage, so now we can take the sail board to the lake & try it out! Jimmy said were going to Lahontan on Saturday, so I guess we'll see?! I'll try to remember to take pictures.
Joe - looks like you guys are having a blast! Thanks for sharing the pictures too! Now I can put a face to atlleast Exxwhy & your family. I haven't talked with/met Sailor_Roy yet, but if & when I do...atleast I'll be able to picture who I'm talking too!
WOOHOO..It's Friday! Time to break out the suntan oil, swimsuits & blankets & hit the beach!
I'm hoping to go look at a 1987 18' Bayliner Capri to trade for our 1998 Dodge Neon. Wish me luck! I hope it's not as bad on the interior as I think it is. I know the top of the seats are cracked, but hopefully not anything major. They also have a GSXR that needs work for $1000 or trade...Hmm, which one?? LOL!
