July BS thread
Welcome to FTE!
Hey Donna, I know that Ninja is tempting, but that is the type of bike that usually gets ridden hard and put away wet. I would be very careful with that.
Good luck with whatever you decide, even if it's neither.
Cheers to ya,
Olfthfl- How big is the Ninja? 250? I'm looking into getting a bike as well and the Ninja 250 is supposed to be one of the best beginner bikes.
Good morning everyone else.
I've been looking on Reno/Tahoe Craigslist - Barter & every time a Ninja 250 comes available, it's gone that day...like within hours! I saw a site where you could buy a brand new Ninja 250 "ON SALE" for like $1,998.00 (normally $2,400.00) I couldn't beleive how much they were new compared to how much people were asking on Craigslist for used!I'm talking to a guy in Reno about his Ninja 750. He's going to call me later. I also looked at the GSXR 750 when we went to look at the Bayliner today - same owner. I like it, but it would be like riding my horse. That tank is sooo big! I know Ninjas have narrower tanks, so I better stick with something like that. LOL!
Donna, yeah looks like you and your family had a great time. I would have loved to have been there, maybe next time. As for which one to choose, between the Ninja or the boat, I would get the boat. However, that is just my opinion, you get whichever one you want.
BTW, I just enrolled in a new VA program that will pay me $1,473 a month to go to school. However, it is too late to get into the classes I want at the local city college, so I an going to look for an adult ed school. If I can find one teaching what I want to learn (Welding), I will be getting that $1,473 for up to 12 months. So I may be able to take a certain lawn ornament you have off your hands earlier than expected.

Jim

Jimmy looked at the GSXR that the people with the Bayliner have & although it sounds nice to me, Jimmy said it would take too much work to get it running right & fix it up. Plus it didn't have a title!
I'm waiting to hear from the guy on the Ninja. He says it needs gas he drained it out before he put it in his garage for the winter. (He got a new bike, so it's been sitting) so the lines wouldn't rot, etc. We know it needs a starter & battery though, and it does have a clear title! Jimmy would check it out before he'd even think about letting me get it. Thank God Jimmy builds motorcylces for a living!
Jimmy is actually thinking of trading his Chevy 1 ton Dually for the Bayliner! The one with the stacks & wing on it. The guy seemed interested in the trade too! I guess we'll see what he decides.

Thanks for your input Jim. That's what most everyone is telling me. GET THE BOAT!
WE're actually trying to get the Ninja & the boat. I'm just waiting to hear back from the guy on the bike. I offered him other tool related items incase he wasn't interested in the car - like a riding lawn mower, snow blower/thrower, or Jimmy has a crossbow & a DeWalt Chopsaw too. We just figured he'd be interested in trading for something of ours.LOL! Congratulations on the school thing. That would be awesome if you could get into welding. I hear that there's good money in it if you know what your doing.
Good luck to you!
Well we're coming to the end of our near 3 week trek across some amazing parts of the country!
Along the way we've met 4 fellow FTE'rs...
Sailor_Roy and Exxwhy in Yellowstone and cowboywannabe and RushmoreX last night here in Hill City South Dakota...it has been fun meeting more FTE'rs as we've met quite a few in our time on FTE!
Tomorrow we'll pull from Hill City over to the Badlands in SD...and do the obligatory stop at Wall Drug SD...even though it is a tourist trap...it is still neat to see.
Then the following 2 days we'll pull towards home and get there on Wednesday afternoon (God willing)...
We've made some more great memories...and I pray that our girls will do this someday with their families!
Our country has so many beautiful sights to see and we've seen a LOT but there are so many more to see and hopefully we'll see more of them!
Our 13 and 15 year old daughters have now stepped foot in 41 of our states!
Just swinging through saying HEY!
Joe.

Have a safe trip the rest of the way home.
Thank you to everyone for all the warm welcomes.
Your welcome Jay! We always enjoy having new meat to pick on. Umm,
I mean... we always enjoy having new members to talk too. LOL!

Unfortunately our Nevada Chapter doesn't have monthly GTG's anywhere. We've been throwing around the idea of trying to have a Annual GTG somewhere in central Nevada so that everyone could come. However, with this economy, most of us can't afford to travel very far. A GTG doesn't have to be BIG. It could be as simple as you meeting 1 other FTE member & often times you'll find that once you meet one (especially in your area range), you tend to meet up more often to hang out, have dinner or coffee together, or just a quick stop on your way through the town. Since becoming a member, I've met KermmyDog (no longer on FTE), Racerchic, & Bdox! I've talked to more over the phone though. LOL!
Bdox & Racerchic both live about an 1hr from me, although Bdox works about 30 mins from me. I've met up with Bdox about 6 times or so & 3 or 4 with Racerchic. She lives about 45 mins away as well. There's alot of great members on FTE that you'll meet up with I'm sure. As for the WVO...I personally have no clue what that is? Sorry, I'm not much help!...something with Vortec Overdrive? Oh wait...Windsor Vacuum Overdrive?? Wanting Volume Output?? Leave it to a girl to come up with stupid stuff like that, huh? LOL!

Ok, so w/o my looking it up online...What is it?
Good luck with whatever it is & I'm sure someone on here has the correct answer for you.

Wakey, wakey...Rise - n - Shine sleepyheads!
