recently replaced heater core in sons 98 F-150. Recently checked freon and was at correct pressure. System blows warm air, but not cold. Was told it might be the doors not opening to allow cold air to blow.
1- how do I check to see if door is opening or closing
2- what else might it be...have checked fuses, compressor, vaccum lines and all are ok.
3-I would hate to tear dashboard apart to check heater core unless the door in core is what might be bad.
First, verify that the compressor comes on when you turn the a/c on. The clutch should engage and you should get between 25 and 44 psi on the low side. If this is the case, the blend door would be the next place to go which is internal in the ductwork.
