'65 Bolt help needed!
I have all the major parts ready to go, but I'm having a really difficult time finding the correct bolts to connect the transmission to the engine as well as for the flywheel and motor mounts. None of the hardware was saved from the initial engine tear down (not my doing - happened about 17 years ago). There is a fastener company locally that has pretty much any type of nut, bolt, screw or washer you could ever want. My problem is that I can find the information on the original Ford part numbers, but that doesn't help much if I don't know what size bolt I need or how long!
Any one have this information available? I'd really appreciate the help. The truck is coming together nicely thanks to the help of a former mechanic turned pharmacy technician co-worker of mine :-)
Thanks in advance!

Another option for the flywheel bolts, and this might be pricey, but Id take a look at ARP. They make bolts for just about anything. Cant hurt to call them.
Keep in mind you can just use hardware from the hardware store for anything that is not critical. Flywheel = critical. Trans and motor mount bolts = not critical. To find the size you need, just use a vernier caliper to measure the depth needed into the block, add the thickness of the trans/motor mount, figure out the bolt size, and head to the hardware store. Id go about a 1/8-1/4" shorter than the total needed length. As a hardware store bolt doesnt have shoulders on it, and most places dont have them, Id at least use a flat washer as well.
Ive used grade 8 hardware before in my much younger days. Never had any issue, but I dont think Id do it again. Lost the bolts that hold the flex plate on my '73 F250, used grade 8 and blue Loctite from the local hardware store and it worked fine.

Many are "battle hardened" have been down this road before, look this jazz up, give customers the info, and out the door they go, without buying anything.
More than likely partsguys will say they don't have a parts catalog this old. Time is money, partsguys are paid on commission, so...
They aren't gonna waste time looking up Standard Parts (ie: nut, bolts and etc) because they are aware the customers only want the specs.
Even if the customers would be willing to buy, dealers aren't gonna have these parts, because...since the early 1980's, almost all Standard Parts are metric.
I'm going to see what I can find locally tomorrow and will post if I have any more questions.
I'll get some pics of my progress uploaded soon as well - I know you all like the pics!
