Some of the 515020's seem to be cheaper than the 515021's. If I need a 515021, can I use a 515020 and remove the ABS wire/sensor? At Autozone, the Timken 515020 is $167, and the Timken 515021 is $312.
You will find that having the ABS sensor hole is very convenient to allow lubing of the bearings sometime in the future. Greasing them occasionally will probably completely eliminate any further front hub bearing failures on that side.
If the lug bolts are the same thread as your rear wheels, then that's eggs-actly what I'd be doing (and I believe they are)!
Clay at RiffRaff has just developed a sensor plug that would fill your need precisely, too.
Save that ABS sensor for anyone else here that has one go bad, too!
You may find someone here who would even buy you one of these in exchange for that new sensor! It would really be win-win!
I am in the same boat as Capt.Schenk, if anyone needs an ABS sensor let me know as I am going to be purchasing two new hubs with the ABS unit but my truck is only Rear Wheel ABS. Also, if someone has these ABS grease zerk plugs let me know as riffraff is out of stock presently.
