I have a 2004 Expedition with navigation. Navigation Unit has failed once and replaced under warranty by the dealer. It prompts: Unable to read disk, dirty disc.
I have tried audio cds and it will give the same prompt. Which was the initial reason was the unit was replaced, so the nav. cds are not bad.
I cannot replace with an after market nav because I have a stock entertainment system (dvd) in the back and it is controlled by this unit. (sound and headphones) Any ideas on what to do, im afraid that replacing the unit will only bring the same problem again ? Thanks.

maybe buy a cheap one off egay or amazon? that way if/when it goes out again you aren't out the full amount.

I have a Garmin unit , it works great and it was under $200.00. Also my android cel phone has a great system built in and I never have to worry about upgraded DVDs.
