we pulled the codes again and it seems that nothing poped out as still there. One code we did get seems it might be due to having to extend my oxygen sensor wiring after having my new Y pipe installed

Define "we pulled the codes again and it seems that nothing poped out as still there". At the very least you should get the "All Clear" code of 11/11 after the KOEO tests and once again for Continuous Memory.

Your second statement contradicts your first, you did get a code somewhere along the line. What was (were) the code(s) you say is related to your oxygen sensor wiring that you extended.

We are trying to help you here, please do not take my response as arrogant. In order to be most effective we need you to give us as many details as possible. What may seem insignificant to you may be the clue that reveals what is wrong with your vehicle.

Not to sound rude, but just give us the actual code number(s) instead of what you think they mean. Tell us any and everything the reader says.

Ok if im reading these right Im getting a few codes but Acording to my reader they are past codes not currently there but thats ok because the check engine light flickers on and off her and there. The first codes I got for the KOER are 538, 536, 632. According to my book they seem to be all the things you guys said, it wants me to react to the test but I didnt. Anyway the codes Im getting when I test KOEO are 111,111, 13,32,45,23,32,452. At least I think thats what im getting. My book says the 111 is system pass.
The 13 is rpm out of range but that should only be when running so im not sure why its coming up here.
32-EGR feedback presure fault (1985-89 models) Not sure that applys to my 92
45-thermactor air upstream or DIS coil pack circuit failure.
23-throttle pposition sensor signal out of range
452- vehicale speed sensor fault
Only a few of these seem to apply to my truck from looking at it but I could be wrong.

You could be reading the codes wrong, these trucks send either 2 digit o 3 digit codes, but never both.

Well I thought maybe it was starting to read the codes over again and repeat but it didnt seem to keep going and the only thing that seemed to make sense was that the last code was 452. And if you try to put them all in 3 digit code then i have extra numbers and if you did 2 digits im missing some lol. Is there a better code reader that wont break me to buy? Trying to count the blinks and beeps and write it all down and watch the light is a pain to do

Just count the blinks, it's not that hard if you have a pen and pad and use tick marks.

The one blink after the KOEO tests is the separator code therefore your codes in CM are 332 and 452 with the same codes repeated (normal operation).

Code 332: EGR valve opening not detected.

Code 452: Computer detected an error in the VSS or PSOM signal during the last 80 warm-up cycles.

Code 452 is pointing to your shifting problem.

ok sounds better then what i was getting lol. Does the egr valve not opening mean it needs to be replaced? And does the vss or psom a big thing? I know i hear alot about the vss and seem to be a bad thing.

Just because you have a code does not necessarily mean you start replacing parts. Codes are used to pinpoint the system that is causing a problem. Start troubleshooting the EGR circuit. Verify the vacuum lines are still attached and intact. Verify the EGR is opening when vacuum is applies. Measure the EVP sensor output signal.

Plenty of good info located here: Fuel Injection Technical Library

And more sensor info here: Steve83 Sensor Values

The VSS circuit can be tricky to troubleshoot. Historically replacing a VSS does not fix these types of issues in most cases I have seen on this forum. Sometimes the issue gets worse. Since your issue is intermittent it is going to take some good detective work to resolve.

Start with checking and cleaning the connections to/from the VSS sensor. I would not blindly replace the VSS at this point. It would be wise to remove the one you have to inspect and clean it off.

The PSOM is located on the back of the gauge cluster. I have seen several cases of bad (dry/leaking) capacitors on the board. If checking/cleaning the VSS/connections does not resolve the issue I would start looking at the PSOM.

There is some more circuitry between the VSS and the PSOM, RABS module, but a faulty RABS module usually kills the VSS signal completely. There is a test for VSS output, check this out: VSS Values
