Antenna Removal?

I have a 2012 FX4. Of all the mods on a truck i figured this to be the easiest installation, but anyways I bought a replacement antenna last night and thought the stock antenna would twist out just as my dads '02 did. Of course thats not the case, I dont know how it comes out? I searched the threads didnt find help and dont want to tear into my truck anymore than i need to. Has anyone else taken off their antenna and replaced it with a twist-on antenna?

It just twist off. I took mine off and cut it down and re-installed. Its on there tight. Get a wrench or plyers and it will come right off.

I had a crescent wrench on it and all it did was spin and spin, never came out at all? Do you have to pull on it too?

my just screwed right off. it will spin for a while, its a fine thread stud. may want to have your dealer check it out if it wont come off.
