I noticed tha the front ac is somewhat cool but the rear ac is blazing hot, which makes no sence to me because I thought they both worked off of the same refridgerant supply. I read somewhere about there being a cut off to the rear heater core, and if that cut-off is open it will always over ride the ac. I looked for this cutoff underneath the van but couldn't find it. Does this exist? Also, where are the high and low side ports? Are they under the hood or doghouse? Thank you!
Thanks for the pic but that looks like a different year model. My high side port is on the driver's side of the van and my cold side isn't routed like the one in the picture is. Thank you anyhow though
Sorry 'bout that BandVan----had that photo of my '00 E250 and posted before remembering your van's year.
If you have a similar photo post it and your ports should be easily identifiable. Typically the line from the compressor to the condenser is the high side.
Yes, no doubt that pic isn't of a pre '92 Econoline.
Try looking up under vent air intake cowling, near center, behind rear edge of hood. If memory serves the other AC port is hidden next to bundle of wires there on a '91 Econoline.

Thank you! My port is under the cowl out of sight.
So onto the rear cooling issue. I pulled the side panel off and to my surprise I found no blend doors. I found the blower motor then under that it's the heater core and the evap core. There are three or four springs to the left of the blower, which make no sense to me. Are there supposed to be blend doors or does it just supposed to cut off water to the heater core when you change the temp selector to cool? I don't see how else it could control the temp. Thanks
Had same problem with mine, found the vacuum controlled hot-water valve feeding the rear heater was stuck open and replaced it. I now have full controll over the weather, atleast inside my van
Edit: Only low pressure port i have found on the ac is in the rear-passenger corner under the hood, I had to unscrew the low pressure switch and used that port, 1/4 male flare fitting with schrader valve. Just remember to short-circuit the switch or the ac wont start!
