Unhappy Turbo Re-install

I just finished performing the EBPV delete and am in the process of putting the turbo back in. I can't seem to get the Collector to line up with the turbo to clamp the two back together. Any tricks?

Also I installed the FRX but can't seem to route the driver side line in a manner that doesn't rub on something. It seems in the pictures included with the instructions to run the line above the driver side plenum. Is that right?

Thanks in advance.

i got the first gen frx, and it was a stretch, but if routed under the intake tube, it'll reach. Where ever it rubs against, cut some fuel line and wrap around it. As for the turbo, you just gotta finesse it in, it'll "pop" in place.

I usually have to raise the front of the turbo to engage the dowel pin on the collector and then push back to align the dowels on the pedestal. It will drop down when all is in position.
Here is a picture of a early '99 that we installed the FRx on.

Thanks guys! I'll try raising the front of the turbo to line it all up. Just have to wait for the wife to get off work tomorrow afternoon.

If it gives you too much trouble, you might loosen the bolts on the uppipes at the exhaust manifolds.

Yes, loosening the up pipe to manifold bolts makes it waaay easy.

I didn't think of loosening the connection at the manifolds. I'll give that a shot as well.

Thanks again for the Advice! I was able to get the turbo back in Saturday and she is now back on the road. Man I missed driving it.
