E fuel question

I'm cleaning up the engine and fixing some things on it and i've got the fuel bowl out and pump and i'm wondering about an e fuel mod because its already out but i've had trouble finding a parts list and there is so many different ways to do this and i just want a basic parts list and write up (tips are much appreciated). thanks

Parts list so far

Base for Fuel/Water Separator
Wix 24309 & Napa 4309 Base: FleetFilter Secure Online Store

Wix 24770 & Napa 4770 Base
Wix 24770 & Napa 4770 Base: FleetFilter Secure Online Store

CARTER Part # P74221 for the pump
2000 FORD F-250 SUPER DUTY Fuel Pump

plus the hose and fittings.

My other question is for filters i was going to start with a pre pump like

Wix 33123 & Napa 3123 Fuel Filter
Wix 33123 & Napa 3123 Fuel Filter: FleetFilter Secure Online Store

or

Wix 33418 & Napa 3418 Fuel Filter
Wix 33418 & Napa 3418 Fuel Filter: FleetFilter Secure Online Store

Then for a post pump a

Wix 33528 & Napa 3528 Fuel Filter
Wix 33528 & Napa 3528 Fuel Filter: FleetFilter Secure Online Store

Am i on the right track for all of this or am i way off? I fix big trucks i don't do alot of fab work like this so help is much appreciated

I found this for a regulator

Aeromotive 13101
Aeromotive 13101 - Aeromotive A1000 Injected Bypass Fuel Pressure Regulators - Suggested Parts - SummitRacing.com

I'm planning on running mostly 3/8 ss line for on the engine with the bases being at 1/2" would i be better off running like 1/2" to 3/8" barb and do 3/8" fuel line from the post pump filter to the engine? then a 3/8" barb off the engine to the fuel line?

Whichever regulator you get ensure that it is rated for diesel fuel.

The Aeromotive 13109 is rated for diesel according to Aeromotive. I called them when I was researching my e-fuel setup.

Here is my parts list for everything, even all the fittings I used.

Fuel Pump & Filter Area:
- Super Duty 7.3 electric fuel pump & bracket (eBay, Forum member, or Junk Yard)
- Stanadyne FM-100 fuel/water separator with fuel heater
- Napa final filter base (WIX 24770 or NAPA 4770)
- WIX 2 micron absolute final filter
- WIX 30 micron fuel/water separator
- 3/8" Diesel Rated Fuel Injection Hose (about 6')
- 1x 5/16" Tube x 6AN fitting
- 1x 6AN Female x 6AN Hose Barb
- 1x 3/8" brass ball valve for fuel shut off
- 1x 3/8" tube x 5/16" 90* fuel pump hookup (O'Reilly) (used to connect 3/8" fuel line to SD fuel pump)
- Misc. Fittings for filter bases

Under the Hood:
- 7/8" Freeze Plug (O'Reilly) (To seal the OEM fuel pump hole, coat with sealant and dimple the edges)
- Aeromotive 13109 Fuel PSI Regulator
- 1x 6ORB male x 6AN male (fuel PSI regulator return to tank port)
- 2x 6ORB male x 6AN male 90* Swival (fuel PSI regulator return fuel line ports)
- 4x 6AN Female x 4AN Male (fuel PSI regulator return fuel lines from heads & fuel line step down at Y fitting)
- 2x 3/8" Tube x 6AN Female (Supply and Return hard line)
- 6AN Y Block
- 2x 4AN Female x 4AN Hose Barb (Y block to head)
- 2x 1/8" NPT x 4AN Male (supply ports in the rear of the head)
- 2x 4AN Female x 4AN Hose Barb (supply ports in the rear of head)
- 1/4" Diesel Rated Fuel Injection Hose (about 5')
- 3/8" Diesel Rated Fuel Injection Hose (about 2')

Oil Pressure Switch:
- Holley 12-810

ok so regulator change and pre filter change i like the fuel heater idea. now my next question is if the fitting going into the head is only 1/8" why use bigger hose and fittings going to the head because all that can flow it what that 1/8" fitting will let though?

The fitting in the head is 1/8" NPT fitting. The OEM fuel lines are 1/4" from the banjo bolt to the head. If you look, the 1/8" NPT fittings has roughly the same ID as 1/4" fuel hose.

The OEM fuel supply lines from the selector valve to the soft connection on the driver side front frame rail is 5/16". From there it increases to 3/8" hard line up to the engine. From there they used 3/8" fuel line to the fuel bowl and to the fuel pump. Then once on the high PSI side of the fuel pump, away from the banjo bolt, they used 1/4" line.

i would like to do the engine parts ss line for looks and to limit the leak points so im thinking 3/8" line from the head to the y then down to the side of the block and maybe a rubber jumper back to ss line to the pump. the reason im doing it all ss is it comes in 20' lengths at most places online.

well i found this to

Tubing, Seamless, 3/8 In OD, 6 Ft, 2936 PSI - Stainless Steel Tubing - Pipe and Tubing - 5LVR8 : Grainger Industrial Supply

and its 6ft so maybe just all ss line on the engine then go to normal steel line on the rail

It is 1/4" coming off the OEM mechanical pump.

The hard line under the truck is 5/16". Unless you are going to change the line under the truck, running 3/8" to your heads will be over kill.

The Super Duty pump is 5/16" as well. Dorman makes the push on clips that work on a SD pump and have hose barb ends. I'm running the clips by 3/8" hose barb that way my hose under the truck in the bends didn't have too much restriction.
