the post filter is 1/2" coming out so it can come down to 3/8" hose and run the hose to the engine and go to 5/16" stainless up the the splitter?

something like this

Tubing, Seamless, 5/16 In, 6 ft, 304 SS - Stainless Steel Tubing - Pipe and Tubing - 3ACU2 : Grainger Industrial Supply

ill use hose for the filter and pump connections

I'd keep the whole system 3/8". Then everything is common to one size hose and fittings.

Agreed.

I'd rather have flow overkill anyways as long as the pump can push the volume.

that's why i want to go 3/8" hose off the post filter then when it gets to the engine go to 5/16" ss line up to the splitter then from the splitter to the head use the same 5/16" ss line. 3/8" is pretty common size for fuel line and 5/16" slips into 3/8" hose and i dont intend on blowing and ss lines any time soon. its still over kill but its easier then ordering another size of tubing

Unless you replace all the fuel lines from the selector valve all the way to the heads with 3/8" line, you can't keep the system 3/8". Even if you do replace it all with 3/8" line, your fuel pump is 5/16".

Here is my setup under my truck. My Stanadyne fuel/water separator is 3/8" inlet/outlet and my final filter is 1/2" inlet/outlet. I used 1/2" NPT x 3/8" Hose barb fittings on my final filter.

I still don't see any reason to do so. Unless your not going to change the fittings at the heads.

so i don't have to buy different tubing and fittings its no different then doing it at the splitter so i might as well save my self the time and just use all the same size and its the same size coming off the pump. Ill take a pic or maybe even add to the write ups about it

No, Ford used 1/4" line from the banjo bolt to the head. International used 5/16" on the DT444.

Which fitting did you screw onto 5/16"? Post a picture of it.

I bet you are talking about the fitting that slips over the stock fuel line. That fitting probably is 5/16" because it is sealed by a rubber o-ring.

The fitting in the head is 1/8" NPT and the OEM fuel line is 1/4".
