Took off on a trip yesterday and after I got through town decided to set cruise control. Did so, let off the pedal and slowed down. Tried again a couple of times, until my daughter chastised me for playing around. I informed her I was not playing around, that the cruise wasn't engaging. Turned it off and back on, same situation. Drove until I turned onto a secondary road and pulled over and killed the ignition and restarted. Everything back to normal. Anyone else experienced this?
Interesting! Hmmm...when you turned on the cruise control...did the image turn on within the dash? It should have been an orange/amber color. Then when you hit 'set'...it should turn green.
A while back I accidentally clicked resume after stopping at a highway light. I think that I was maybe right below the minimum cruise speed (45mph?) - anyway it wouldn't take - worked just like you describe - turned off - then on several times. Also - I got the small info screen - not the productivity screen and had some sort of amber CEL type light. Watching everything - Temps , lights etc. nothing else seem to be a problem. 30 minutes later I turned truck off - ate lunch - then turned it back on - Light had cleared - cruise worked as normal - that was a year and a half ago - no problem since..
The info screen remained normal. The amber light turned green, but the system didn't regulate. The light went off and on as I turned cruise off and on. I didn't set the cruise until I was through town and at 60 mph. Rather strange.
I've had this exact scenario happen to me twice in the past 6 months. Both times I have pulled over, shut the truck down, restarted and the cruise works again. Interesting to see someone else experiencing the same thing...
I'm having the same issue on my 2018. Usually have the message at startup though that the front collision avoidance isn't active. When I have that at start up, the cruise won't work. If shut down and then restart, usually resets it and then cruise will work.
