Went to 4 wheel parts to inquire about Bilstein 5100's or the 4600's and they tried to tell me their Pro Runner shock was the same as the 5100's only cheaper. I question that. Anybody know anything about the Pro Comp shock?
I've also heard the same...that it is basically a clone of the 5100. That includes the new Rancho 7000MT.
IMHO...unless the warranty is better than the Bilsteins...and they give you a 90 day (as an example) return warranty...I'd pass. IMHO...the Bilsteins are just about the perfect shock for the SD.
Thanks for the replys guys, if it makes any difference, my truck is a bone stock 2011 Crew Cab SB Lariat . No off roading at all. I tow a 9500 travel trailer maybe 5000 mi a year. What do you think 5100's or 4600's
I took off the piece o' @!^* FoMoCo "Raunchie" shocks three weeks ago and replaced them with Bilstein 5100's and cannot be more pleased. Took the Raptor 5'er on a 1,000+ mile trip last week and enjoyed noticeable ride improvement.
I bought my Bilstein's from 4WheelParts also and was pressed hard to consider the Pro Comps. Profit margin has to be better on Pro Comp sales.
From all I've read here the 9000 Rancho's have been a good choice as well.

Ah yes...I had to deal with this when buying stuff from 4WheelParts when I had my Jeep JK. 4WP actually owns Pro Comp so that's why you guys are getting all of the pressure to buy Pro Comp.

Many Thanks to all who replied. You guys are the best. It looks kike it will be the 5100's for me. $88.99 each F&R $24.00 per shock to install at 4 wheel parts.
$100 to install? yikes! It's a 15-30 minute job if you want to save a few bucks. Tire removal not required...
Bullet, Help me out here. . .it didn't take much time to change out the rear shocks but the fronts were another story. What's the best way to intall the fronts? I know it did it the HARD way.
Hit 'em with PB blaster (or something similar) a few times and let the bolts soak. Turn the wheel full right to get to the drivers side, then full left to the get to the passenger side. One nut on top, one bolt on bottom on each one.
