Brake problems HELP!!
I have a 99 f250 4x4 and my front driver side wheele would squeel real loud when making a left turn. Today i replaced my rotors (thnking it was worped), front pads, and front u-joints. The same wheele still squeels!! any thoughts or has anyone else had this problem? thanks

Sounds are always fun to diagnose over the internet screen. Are you 100% sure it's the driver front wheel, or does it just sound that way? Only happens when turning left? What happens if you turn the wheels all the way left while in park? What happens if you don't touch the brakes while turning? Or if you apply light pressure to the brakes while turning?
Brakes typically don't squeal while only turning left. Is there any play in your front hub? Are the hubs locked or unlocked?

Have you checked the dust shield? My cousin had the same problem on his truck, the shield got bent so it just barely cleared the rotor and when he turned it would flex so that it touched the rotor and made a horrific squeal.

ok so i found out where the noise is coming from. My driver side front rotor is rubbing on the springs that the outside pad sits in upper and lower. I replaced the driverside wheele bearing less than 3 years ago but checked it anyway and there is no play. Any suggestions? Im suppose to be taking a trip this weekend and would like to take my truck. thanks

Can you see a shiny spot where the rotor is rubbing? If you look at the picture above, you'll notice those spring clips do not extend inside the slide pin bracket, so the rotor would have to rub on the bracket along with the clips if that's where it's rubbing.

the rotor rubbed the part of the clip off that hooks on the iside of the bracket. the slide pins feel fine i actually felt they were too dry so i lubed them but didnt over do it.
