OK guys I set up my scan gauge to read Injection control pressure. Is that what i need to be watching to determine if i need to install the blue spring kit? it sets at 580 - 583 at idle I am assuming thats PSI.
also what kind of voltage readings should i be seeing from my FICM (Main)
I am trying to get a feel for these diesels (since i am new to these) so I can learn how to catch problems as soon as possible.
Blue spring kit is for fuel pressure, which the SGII does not read.
Your ICP psi and ICPv and IPR will be more for the health of the HPOP system. Those readings at hot idle you see on your ICP look good.
Your FICM volts (main) should never drop below 45v. Best to read it in the cold of the mornings. My FICM, at first, would start at 39v and would rise to 48v in about 10 seconds. My FICM, over a couple months, slowly worked it's way down to 30v first thing in the morning and rise up to 48v. I would never start the truck until it hit 48v. I have since had Ed fix the FICM.
I received my Blue spring kit from Riff Raff Diesel Sat, I guess i am wondering if I should go ahead and change it as more of a preventive measure or leave it it alone.

The blue spring is an updated part from Ford, so installing it without knowing your current fuel psi should not be a problem.

^^^^^ Exactly. When the "BB Mod" was rolling around here, I didn't even think about doing it. Then we got the "blue spring" from Ford, I went ahead and did it.
