Electric fan question

First let me say I did use the search button and I did see some interesting setups but didn't quite find the answer to this question. In the future I plan to do an electric fan setup on my 94 4.0 ranger, I'll probably use a junk yard Taurus fan and I want to use a fan switch that will turn the fan on and off itself depending on engine temp (though I'll probably have a manual switch for a backup just in case). My question is at what temp should I have the fan kick on? My thermostat opens at 198 so I'm thinking on at 200 off at 185 would be fine just wanna get the thoughts and opinions of others.

Thanks (and happy fathersday to all my fellow breeders out there lol)
Joe

You could go higher than 200, cars I work on usually the fan(s) kick on around 220 or so. Does your truck have a/c? If so you'll want the fan running when it's on, at least when your moving slow or stopped, at hwy speed you wont need it. Sounds like alot of stuff to be thinking about with a manual fan switch and all. I think I'll just stick with the stock fan.

Has a/c but it's not functional so I'll probably be removing it. I have a diagram somewhere for wiring it all up so it shouldn't be too bad.
