I put a 79 wheel on my 69 F250, but it all depends on the splines. If the wheel is splined solid, like your steering column, it will fit. Some 79's and all later models didn't have a solid splined column/wheel...they have 90-95 percent splines and then a flat area...the flat areas in the wheel and column line up together to help center the wheel.
Thnx Numberdummy I did see that in the catalog, I was hoping to not spend another 250.00. Im way over budget on this project already. Finished repairing the wheel today, took me about 8 hours to complete. Now have to epoxy prime tonight and paint it tomorrow.
Personally, I'd get rid of it. Those wheels were some of the poorest quality plastic and even on new pickups often busted open their first winter.
Ill see how it holds up, after priming it with black epoxy primer i can't even tell its been repaired. If it cracks again ill break down and buy a new one.
