Have a 2000 f150 xlt 4x4 that has windsield wipers intermitenly comes on for no reason .For only at the most four swipes, then stays off. some times it seems that it happens after ive used the turn signal.anyone had this annoying problem?
just wanted to reply to my own post ,i did pull out the MFS (turn sig switch) and noticed losts of grease with a build up of copper from the contacts mixed in w/the grease.in my mind there was a possibilty of that muck shorting out or the grease becoming a conductor,so all i did was clean with some contact cleaner and re-grease and have not had a single incident with fatom signal operation. glad i dint purchase the MFS ,maybe some r bad but not the case w/ mine.
Had different kind of "windsield wiper phatom operation". Mine frequently lost intermittent speeds & hi/lo positions turned into 1 intermittent setting & 1 continuous speed. Suspected the 'black box' behind knee panel, but 1 look at its miserable location had me saying Kaa-rist! Was unable to find used 1 at U-Pull, however discovered that by inspecting the plug/wiring to this box, I'd jostled things enough to drive out the gremlin! Presume a loose ground.

How did you open it up to find the dirty contacts? I need to do this to my switch soon.
