Spark Plug Exploded

Hi all....I had a plug explode on the way home from work (wasn't driving it hard)
It got me home, running on 7 cylinders...barely.
Been busy at work, haven't had a change to look at yet.
Just wondering if many ppl have had the same kinda problem and what may cause it.

thx

By exploded you mean it blew out of the head or did it blow the ceramic out of the metal base? It sounds like a bad/old/worn plug to me. If it blew it out of the head metal part and all check the threads in the head and replace all the plugs.
