I bought my expedition a couple weeks ago it is a 97 eb with 4wd and I was wondering what this is black metal piece attached to my mirror by rivets? Is it a mirror guard? Is it aftermarket? Is it stock? Is is homemade? What is it?
Def they are home made. They don't seem to have any purpose on there, as on the second shot they ride above the mirror. Looks like the previous owner did not like looking at the gaps between the mirror and the housing and this gets rid of that.
lol your prob right! they are coming off it looks stupid!it also takes away from me being able to see the whole mirror. I should have asked the guy i bought it from!
oh ok so its to prevent the turn signal mirror glass from being stolen!!! I got you!!! That actually makes sense. I guess the people who owned it before me have had theirs stolen before.
Thanks guy thats actually makes a lot of sense!!! I didn't know there were thefts of those but I guess they are expensive!
