Ok, in the process of fixing up the red truck I need to replace the spring mount brackets on the front of the rear springs, the shackles at the rear, and the bushings for it all. That was all well and good except I have 2 1/4 inch springs! So where can I find these parts without paying an arm and a leg? And a cheap(er) set of body mounts? Thanks!
The local shop was unable to locate the parts for me, and I was looking for something better than stock. They basically gave up because the truck is "too old".

Well that's pretty lame of that shop to send you packing. They didn't even try. I'd be leery of sending that place any future business (unless you're caught btwn a rock and a hard place).
some people have had bad luck with ballistic.. idk. I guess they have changed for the better but still iffy IMO. Ruff stuff sells shackles too and they have pretty decent customer service.
They are good with springs and trailers, but don't have much of a cross reference for older stuff. I did find those brackets, but my truck doesn't need those, it needs the other ones for the front end of the spring.
Get the 2.5" spring hangers off of a 70's truck or 80's-90's 2wd. You can then run a .125" spacer on either side of the leaf in the hanger to make up for the narrower springs. The 2.5" wide stuff is everywhere.
Stuff for 3" springs is a little trickier, but the 80's-90's 4wd F-series and broncos had them so they aren't that bad to find either.
there are a lot of 70's and 80's 2wd's in the junkyard here, let me know if you can't find them I may be able to pull a set for you for a pretty reasonable price.
