Have a question about my 2003 F250 SD 5.4L. I hear a load sound coming from the a/c Compressor at start-up that lasts about 1 second. This sound gives you the first impression that the clutch is bad or something. Now the details are. This only happens after you have been running the a/c on hot days and then shut the truck off. If you start it up within the next 5 minutes you here it. It never happens on cold starts, and if you turn the a/c off you dont here it. If you let the truck sit like 15 minutes or so you do not here it either. You never here it in the winter even when its on defrost. The first thing I did is replace the Clutch thinking it was going. That didnt work. Still the same noise. So what i was thinking is it seems at shutoff is it building pressure and not being released in time and when I go to start there is alot of pressure in the system? Could this be due to pressure in system or a pressure switch. Any suggestions would help.
