Went to go start the electric pump project only to find the ****ing radiator leak I had turned into radiator failure, idk how but massive seem in it now. So I went to every junkyard I knew to try and scrap one... no luck til someone referred me to one which was like 40mins from where I live and turns out the are the only junkyard with more than 1 idi in it. Two had hardly been touch one I considered buying because it looked like it was in better shape than mine lol, anyways I pulled a radiator then took it home for the swap, I mounted the intercooler on it and sat in the engine bay only to find out it was about 6" to tall and not as wide as the other....idk what I was thinking so tomorrow ill go and see if I can get one that will fit my truck and try her again...
I haven't been there yet but he says he has lots of 7.3 parts and the place is like 200-300 acres!
I wonder if a gasser radiator from a 460 or something might be same radiator??
you only live like an hour from me Gordonsville, va aka Mayberry
EDIT:
after googling it seems a 460, etc gasser rad wont work and is maybe smaller or doesn't cool as much...
also read a gasser rad is crossflow and a diesel rad is downflow
so maybe incompatible...
There's two major radiators for our idis. Non-AC wide n short and tall narrow AC usually type. Not sure how you could adapt it unless you grab the support.
How big of a seam? I used flux hi-temp solder to patch a hole in one of the tubes (test light caught the fan lol)
