I was wondering what kind of distributor i should run a vacuum or mechanical advance? It is a moderately built 460 and i plan on running all new mallory ignition and was wonder which one to get. I drive the truck daily (But short distances) and i also plan to pull it at some tractor pulls as well. thanks for the info

Sorry, it is bored .030 over with speed pro pistons, a .519 lift/270 duration comp cam, edelbrock performer RPM intake with a 750 carb. 10:1 compresion, all new valvetrain parts. It has an auto at this moment but will soon be a 4 speed. I planing on buying the mallory hyfire VI-AL box and Distributor

Swamp Donkey,
Considering that you plan on going to a manual tranny, I'd go with the mechanical advance if it were mine. You get much more control of the advance curve.
That's just me though. I've had more bad luck with vacuum advance dizzys than anybody I know. I REALLY dislike them.
