Won't go over 30mph

Hey guys I got a 95 powerstroke f250 automatic. Couple days ago it just started running rough and wouldnt go past 30mph no matter how much throttle you give it. Then I changed out the fuel filter and it ran like a top for a day and now it's doin it again. No check engine light or anything. It's the same place I have always got fuel. Could it just be a bad batch of fuel? Any help would be great. Thanks

Also isn't smoking at all

Clean the FPR screen.

If it ran good for a day or so with new fuel filter, I"m guessing you have junk on the screen and just happened to knock most of it off when you changed the filter.

You can pull the filter back out and find it on the right side of the filter housing. With the drain open on the water separator, you can clean it with a can of WD-40 and a straw, or you can remove the line (2 allen screws) from the outside of the housing. It will come out when you remove the line. This is the best way to clean it BTW.

That said, I'm thinking you may possibly have problems with the Under Valve Cover Harnesses. The filter is easy to check, and needs to be checked if it hasn't been in a while.

If it's a UVCH problem, the truck would shake really bad at idle. I mean REALLY bad.

The other way to clean the FPR screen is to take off the filter and drain some fuel out.

Cut the end of a q-tip off so you have the q-tip stick (paper) and just scrape the junk off the screen.

Use a tire pressure gauge (an old junk one) to measure the fuel pressure while idling before and after.

If it's really low before and after, you have something else to look for.

The best way to clean the FPR is really to pull the whole fuel bowl and disassemble the FPR, but thats a lot of work and not necessary.

UVCH problems usually only happen with Glow Plugs, so unless your having a bad hard start issue, you can rule out UVCH.

If your not firing on all injectors, you can usually tell on start up.

It does kinda shake a bit On start up. Only for a couple seconds. Is that normal? And I will try cleaning the fpr screen tomorrow.
